Leadership
John O'Malley - President/Founder
John is a 30-year veteran and recognized leader in the wireless telecom and mobile security industries. Prior to Rockfleet Advisors, he was a member of the executive leadership team at Giesecke & Devrient (G+D) Mobile Security America Inc., where he built up the North American telecom business unit from start up to a dominant market position with long-term revenue growth and sustained profitability.
He pioneered the launch of G+D’s secure, over-the-air (OTA) cloud services business, their regional SIM card offerings for 2G, 3G, and 4G and led the division to market leadership status for IoT/M2M eSIM and Remote Subscription Management services for LTE.
John has a proven track record at setting and successfully executing growth strategies. His Operations Management experience spans across the full supply and value chain, and includes oversight of sales & marketing, applications engineering, product & project management, manufacturing, cloud services and support organizations.
With G+D, John created and grew a large and loyal customer base service provider and OEM clients Including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Tracfone, Comcast, Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Apple, Samsung, General Motors and Hughes Telematics.
As SVP of IoT Solutions, he led product innovation and business development teams focused on expanding G&D’s footprint and security portfolio into new IoT/M2M market verticals. This included connected car, wearables for payment and ticketing, mobile application security, tele-health and industrial manufacturing.
Before G+D, John led product and engineering teams at Raytheon’s Melpar Division in the development of various advance electronic communications systems for the DoD. He’s a patent holder and has authored papers on wireless receiver and digital signal processor design.
John received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and his MSEE from George Mason University. A native of Philadelphia, John lives in the Washington, DC Metro area.
